I grew up in Pinckney, MI, back before it had traffic lights and fast-food restaurants. I can remember when the whole town closed at 7 pm, including the gas stations. After high school, I attended Sienna Heights College in Adrian, MI; I later married & moved to Ann Arbor, where I still reside today.
I have been in the insurance industry dating back to 1996 when Heidi first opened the agency. We worked side by side, building the business from scratch. It’s been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life.
Having been witness to this growing business, I have a unique perspective that allows me to see how every aspect of the business fits together, what makes it tick and tick smoothly. We call it “See Big,” which is a quick way of saying Big Picture Thinking.
When I am alone, I enjoy watching documentaries. They can be about nature, wars, or the general history of our nation and our world. In fact, every summer, I talk endlessly about one of my favorite TV series, Shark Week. I love it!
Most people don’t know this, but I absolutely love watching Michigan Football. It doesn’t matter to me if they’re having a good season or not; I’m going to watch the game no matter what. I’m not a calm game watcher either, and I often find myself arguing with the refs through the TV. Things would go so much better if they’d just listen to me. (LOL)
In my free time, my husband and I love seeing and playing with our granddaughters. They are the joy of our lives. We also love nature and gear our vacation getaways around exploring the natural beauty an area has to offer.
I am also passionate about helping others less fortunate. My favorite volunteer activity is helping Habitat for Humanity, and my favorite job with them is hanging vinyl siding, and I’m good at it.
